004- [Voice/ drone filter]
May. 31st, 2010 09:35 pmHello, everyone. This is Hitler.
[He pauses, wondering how to phrase this request.]
There was something I was curious about in regards to the droning process. I was wondering if anyone would mind helping me with a small experiment. I promise it won't be complicated or take up too much of your time.

Date: 2010-06-01 03:47 am (UTC)An interesting hypothesis to draw. I doubt people drone zhemselves vhillingly, however. Could it be possible zhat somezhing in zheir subconscious triggers zhe droning process? A failsafe, for vhen Grady or zhe Mayor cannot do it personally?
Something tells me this will not end well....^^;
Date: 2010-06-01 04:02 am (UTC)I think some people subconciously decide that being a drone would be easier.....and then the town sort of takes over. Did anyone explain Westport to you yet?
Hah, oh goodness, probably not. But that's why it's awesome.
Date: 2010-06-01 04:08 am (UTC)[Oh goodness, he's starting to talk about Mayfield as though it's some sort of sentient being. Welcome to the town, Medic.]
So true.^___^
Date: 2010-06-01 04:17 am (UTC)But the only way I can think of to prove that Grady or the Mayor or some other intervention isn't necessary is to drone someone on my own. So I was going to try droning myself.
Er, as for Westport, it's all very complicated, but I could try to explain it to you. If you'd like.
Re: So true.^___^
Date: 2010-06-01 04:36 am (UTC)And vhouldn't droning yourself be a problem, considering you may never, as it vhere, come back from it? Or is zhere a vhay to reverse zhe process?
haha, Wesport....1/??
Date: 2010-06-01 05:39 am (UTC)As for Westport..... It's the neighboring town. Normally, it's a place that is mentioned by drones and seen on television, but is inaccessible because Mayfield is cut off from everything else. But recently....a road opened up.
2/ 3 or 4 probably....
Date: 2010-06-01 05:49 am (UTC)Interestingly though....there were no signs of people. No bodies either. I explored a little myself, and found a safe in the ruins of the police station. It had half a burnt police badge with the name -an Olney visible. After discussing it with other people and comparing it to older clues, it was determined that Evan Olney was probably Grady's former name. Adding that to the fact that some people believe that he's as much a slave to this town as anyone, I began to wonder if Westport might be the first iteration of Mayfield. After a few days, the road suddenly vanished. About fifty people were trapped in Westport.
3/4 S-so long....Westport was so complex. ;_;
Date: 2010-06-01 05:58 am (UTC)There was a radio in Westport that was capable of transmitting signals to Mayfield periodically. There were poeple in Hazmat suits spraying toxic chemicals into the air. They were also hunting people down and killing them. Several letters and notes belonging to people who had apparently been victims of Mayfield. If you want to see those I'm afraid you'll have to ask around and see who has them. The church was defaced and covered in graffiti that suggested some kind of cult was at work. The most often repeated image was that of a little girl with a pentagram for a face....
There was apparently a TV making a strange, looping broadcast. Again, you can proabably ask around to see who saw it. I think thats it....
4/4 Done. I promise.
Date: 2010-06-01 06:00 am (UTC)Um...Sorry I can't be of more help, but that's all I really know.

Date: 2010-06-01 06:11 pm (UTC)[Indeed it is. A war-torn town full of men in hazmat suits and cryptic messages? Medic is starting to feel annoyed that he missed it! He has seen the note from Samantha (thanks to it being stuffed in everyone's mailboxes), but other than that, this is his first introduction to Westport.]
Vhe already know zhat zhe drones are, one some level, human -- or vhere, at least. So it is perhaps safe to assume zhat vhone can be droned und zhen pull zhemselves out of it if zhey keep zheir sense of self strong under zhe droning effect. Has zhat been zhe case vith zhose zhat are permanently droned versus zhose zhat are droned but recover: zhe 'stronger' victims are zhe vhones to return to zhemselves first?

Date: 2010-06-01 09:06 pm (UTC)But maybe we could convince everyone to start reporting droning and recoveries. If we keep a list there might be trends over time.

Date: 2010-06-01 09:56 pm (UTC)[Well, Hitler is Optimistic enough to believe he's doing this for very altruistic reasons.]
Umm...What did you say your name was?
no subject
Date: 2010-06-01 10:02 pm (UTC)Vhell, my name isn't particularly important. Just call me Medic, for now.
[Oh, right.]
Und make sure zhat you make it clear zhat you are referring to zhe BLU Team's Medic, und not zhe cowardly failure zhat is zhe RED Team's Medic.

Date: 2010-06-01 11:57 pm (UTC)BLU team, got it. My name is...
[And he pauses for a second. Because everyone's been saying the same thing today...]
Er...I've been advised that I should just go by 'Adolf.'

Date: 2010-06-02 02:19 am (UTC)You are German, zhen, ja? Or perhaps merely of German descent. You don't seem to heff an accent.
[Nobody has an accent next to you, Medic, shut up.]

Date: 2010-06-02 03:33 am (UTC)Umm...well, I have sort of a unique situation.
[He pauses, trying to think of how to word this...]
I'm a clone. So, in regards to things like nationality and descent, I may be a special case...

Date: 2010-06-02 03:41 am (UTC)A clone of who, may I ask?

Date: 2010-06-02 03:46 am (UTC)[He sounds vaguely apologetic.]

Date: 2010-06-02 04:39 am (UTC)You're a clone of the Führer? You sound nozhing like him.
[Much more... nice, for one thing. Less awe-inspiring.]

Date: 2010-06-02 05:43 am (UTC)I usually try not to sound like him if I can help it...

Date: 2010-06-02 06:57 am (UTC)[Medic can totally dig that. It's the same reason that, when asked about where he got his hands-on training, he prefers to simply say 'on a military encampment', rather than 'at Dachau.' It's all about the names.]
