[After being in Mayfield for a few days, Hitler has run out of helpful things to do around the house. So now he's spending a day in the park. You can find him sitting on a bench, with a bag full of ........sewing supplies? Yep, sewing supplies that he got from drone!mom. (Who was really concerned about the request. A boy, sewing? How ridiculous!) So now he's sitting on a park bench happily creating what appear to be tiny stuffed sheep. They're very cute. Besides one for himself, he's also making them for some of the nice people he's talked to since he arrived here. Specifically Roshia, Ukraine, Vince Noir, Steel  Massimo, and Shiro. And maybe a few others. Anyway, sheep. Enjoy the almighty Dolly, Mayfield. Feel free to interrrupt him with curiosity, interest, and/or teasing. ]

Okay! I just need to tie the little bell around it's neck and......there. That's one more done.

Almighty Dollys. They're good luck charms back where I'm from.

Good luck-- that's somethin' we could use, here! They're well cool! Y'know, I'm pretty good at sewin' myself, but I've never made somethin' like that. Y'did a really good job!

Thank you. Actually, I made one of these for you.

[Offers you a sheep.]

It's to thank you for being so nice when I arrived.

Really? Thanks, mate! [He takes it, beaming-- he's totally going to clip it onto his belt and wear it forever and ever.] I'm gonna name him... Gary. He looks like a Gary, yeah?

Gary? That's a great name.

[He's pretty amused that people are naming their sheep. No one does that at his school.]

He definately looks like a Gary.

[wheeee playing with Gary] Hullo, Gary! Almost wish he was a real sheep, so I could talk to him! That'd be genius!

That would be pretty great.

[picks up the one he made for himself.]

I wonder what they'd say...

Probably what all sheep say, really.

Gossip 'bout goats.

[a surprised pause, and then....he laughs]

Is that what sheep talk about? Somehow it makes sense.

Yeah, and then goats're always goin' on 'bout llamas, and llamas'll talk 'bout anybody 'cause they're prats. Pettin' zoos are nightmares, honestly.

Wait. You can seriously understand animals?

From: [identity profile] numanstan.livejournal.com
Yeah! I'm like Mowgli in flares.

That's...incredible. I'm really impressed.

Do you ever talk to very large animals, like tigers? Do different breeds of dogs talk about different things?

Date: 2010-04-26 05:02 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] numanstan.livejournal.com
Yeah, I talked to 'em all the time when I worked in the zoo-- y'don't see many lions and tigers and bears in Dalston, though, so I don't see 'em as much as I used to. But, one of my best mate's a gorilla! He's magic, though, so he can talk to everybody.

Yeah, dogs're well cool like that! The sportin' kinds talk 'bout huntin' foxes and the lapdogs talk 'bout EastEnders.

You worked in a zoo? That must have been really interesting. I've never even been to a zoo.

And you're friends with a magic gorilla? Wow. I kind of envy your life. It sounds so exciting.

[Finally, someone who's not calling his life weird or strange or impossible. Exciting. That's a nice word for it. He likes it.] Yeah, it's been pretty good so far.

You've never been to a zoo before? That's awful! They're my favorite places in the world, 'sides the forest I grew up in! Y'should definitely go first chance y'get!

[If he's going to accept nations and electric squirrels, he pretty much has to accept magic gorilla.]

Well, they don't like us to leave school grounds. So I haven't really been anywhere.

That's well sad! If we could leave, I'd take y'someplace cool, but this [he gestures around them] seems to be it. Sorry that this place's the first non-school place you've been. Rest of the world's much cooler, trust me.
