[All of these reminders of Westport have been weighing heavily on the citizen's of Mayfield who remember that horrible place. Hitler has been keeping his head down and avoiding the Hazmats and Sergei as best he can. But he has been listening to the information being passed around. He's also taken to carrying around his one souvenier from Westport. The half burnt police badge with the name -an Olney. And every day on the way home from school, he's been stopping across the street from the police station. Staring, for just a few minutes, wondering what kind of circumstances could have lead to this mess.]

Evan Olney..... I wonder what led him to betray his friends....

... I'm not entirely sure who this Olney guy is, but anyone who would betray their friends is lower than even the lowest scum.

[[HEY have a little skullfairy (like 5'0) walking by and tilting his head]]

Who's E-evan Olney?

From: [identity profile] springtime4me.livejournal.com
I- I think that it may be Officer Grady's original name.

I can't be sure, but the evidence is pretty strong.

bestwishes: (Don't ask me?)

Really? ... Then why is he known as "Grady" now?

Date: 2010-10-25 03:34 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] springtime4me.livejournal.com
He's... I found his badge in Westport. I think he might actually be Grady.

[Also: staring. But too polite to ask what the heck you are.]

From: [identity profile] springtime4me.livejournal.com
I don't know. There's a lot we don't know.....

Were you around when the Westport thing happened?

Date: 2010-10-25 03:37 am (UTC)
bestwishes: (Huh?)
From: [personal profile] bestwishes
No, I've only heard about it so far. Apparently those guys in the suits were there trying to kill everyone?

From: [identity profile] skullfairy.livejournal.com
But who's Grady?

[[SO CONFUSED

also don't stare it's rude]]

From: [identity profile] springtime4me.livejournal.com
Yes... but that's only part of it...

....

It's a long story though, and not a pleasant one. Are you sure you want to hear it?

Date: 2010-10-25 03:48 am (UTC)
bestwishes: (I honestly don't even know...)
From: [personal profile] bestwishes
Well, they say knowledge is power, right? And we're gonna need all the power we can get to have a chance of beating this place...

[Hitler blnks in surprise. Whatever this guy is, he must be new.]

Grady is the police chief here. He acts as an enforcer to keep us from affecting the town.

He's the man leading the Hazmats right now.

[As Hitler stares at the police station and murmurs those words, a curtain is suddenly drawn back. Grady stares back at him, a mixture of shock and cold anger on his face.]

True.

[He smiles, and then looks around.]

Across from the police station is probably not the place for this conversation. Let's go into the malt shop, okay? I'll get you a milkshake.

[Is he treating Ash like a little kid? Yeah, maybe just a bit.]

Date: 2010-10-25 03:54 am (UTC)
bestwishes: (Huh?)
From: [personal profile] bestwishes
Right, that sounds like a good idea. By the way, I'm Ash. Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town.

[Hey, he's getting a free milkshake, right? Ash doesn't care if you're treating him like a kid unless it has to do with Pokeyman fights.]

From: [identity profile] springtime4me.livejournal.com
[There is a sort of undignified squeak, and Hitler, even though he's all the way across the street, can't help but apologize.]

S- Sorry. I'm didn't mean it like that.

[Because he didn't. Hitler may be the only person in Mayfield who feels sorry for Grady. But he still fears him. Which is why he's backing away.]

From: [identity profile] springtime4me.livejournal.com
It's nice to meet you, Ash. My name is.... Adolf.

[He's been warned not to give his full name, and it does seem to cause a lot of problems. Let's see, subject change...]

Umm.... What flavor did you want?

Date: 2010-10-25 04:03 am (UTC)
bestwishes: (Bring it on!)
From: [personal profile] bestwishes
Nice to mee'cha, Adolf!

[Even if Ash did know he was Hitler, would that ever register to Ash anyway? I mean, would WWII even exist where he came from? Who knows? Probably not.]

Hmm... Chocolate looks good?

From: [identity profile] mayfield-mods.livejournal.com
[Grady's eyes narrow into a fierce glare, and he quickly closes the curtain.

It's worth noting that he looks extremely haggard.]

From: [identity profile] springtime4me.livejournal.com
[Hitler is extremely disturbed as he walks home that day.]

Date: 2010-10-25 04:13 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] springtime4me.livejournal.com
Sure.

[So he'll get him a chocolate shake and steer him towards a table in the malt shop.]

Let's see, I guess I'll start at the beginning. The first I heard of Westport was in the spring, when the town started broadcasting advertisements for a picnic that we were all invited to. Before that, Westport had only been mentioned in passing on the news, so a lot of people just ignored it.

.....

But then the road appeared.

Date: 2010-10-25 04:14 am (UTC)
bestwishes: (Don't ask me?)
From: [personal profile] bestwishes
Yeah, I remember hearing something like that before. And then once people got there, the road back disappeared?

[[very new]]

So h-he's responsible for the people who have been killed?

From: [identity profile] a-gentle-boy.livejournal.com
It's not fair to judge when I don't know what happened. But whatever it was . . .

I hope it was worth it for him.

From: [identity profile] springtime4me.livejournal.com
Actually, for the first day, you could go back and forth easily. I went there myself.

The whole town was wasteland. The buildings were heavily damaged, there was no food or water. And no people either. It looked as if a war had taken place. Although, that's probably what did happen. I went there specifically to search for any clues I could find.

From: [identity profile] springtime4me.livejournal.com
I'm sure he had his reasons. And it's still possible that there was some kind of misunderstanding.
